Terry McCain

The. Rev. Terry Lynn McCain, 66, of Franklinton, died early Wednesday morning, Sept. 20, 2017, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. He retired from Southern Natural Gas after 25 years as a heavy equipment operator and pipeline worker.

Terry was a former member of the Louisiana Army National Guard. He was an evangelist and had preached at countless churches throughout Louisiana and southern Mississippi. Terry was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting of all types and enjoyed fishing. He was a longtime active member of the Great Southern Beagle Club and loved to run his dogs each year. Terry was always a loving husband and a devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend that cherished the time spent with his family.

He is survived by: wife of 45 years, Barbara Jenkins McCain of Franklinton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Lynette and Mitchell Bryant, Jana and Glenis Brooks, all of Tylertown, Miss., and Jodie and Jerry Brady of Wisner; 11 grandchildren, Lindsey Bryant, Lydia Bryant, Lana Bryant, Lauren Bryant, Lissa Bryant, Kaylie Brooks, Riley Brooks, Allan Brooks, Jerran Brady, Jathan Brady and Jolie Brady; brother and sister-in-law, Roy McCain Jr. and Hazel McCain of Franklinton; sister-in-law, Gilda McCain of Franklinton; and also numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and many special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Murphy McCain Sr. and Margie Marie Boone McCain; granddaughter, Joanna Bryant; a brother, LeVaughn McCain; and sister, Cheryl Diane McCain.

Visitation was at Faith Tabernacle Apostolic Church on Thursday, Sept. 21, from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m., and after 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 22. A funeral service will be held in the church at 2 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. William Moore and the Rev. Jerry Brady officiating. Burial will follow in the Morris Cemetery.
