Terry Blunt

Terry Blunt passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 15, 2017, at his home. He was born in Chicago, Ill., to the late Creasie Jenkins and Willie Blunt.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Donna B. Blunt of Franklinton; a daughter, Tonya Blunt of San Diego, Calif.; a son, Terry Blunt Jr. of Virginia Beach, Va.; one grandson, Jeffery McKenzie of San Diego; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Creasie Jenkins and Willie Blunt; two sisters, Willilla Walker and Lily Harris; and a brother, Jerry Blunt.

He graduated from Crain High School in 1964. Afterwards, he joined the U.S. Army. He actively served for 22 years and completed two tours of duty in Vietnam. After retirement, he was employed by the Chicago Transit Authority for 13 years. Later in life, he attended Malcolm X College and obtained a degree in Criminal Justice.

He dedicated his life to Jehovah in May 2008. He was an active member of the congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Franklinton. He actively shared his faith and hope in the public ministry. He enjoyed participating in the Theocratic Ministry School, often giving public Bible reading before the congregation.

He was loved deeply and will be missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 23, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, located at 42590 Highway 16 in Franklinton, beginning at 12:30 p.m. The family hour will be from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
