Frank McKnight Jr.

Frank P. McKnight Jr., 89, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017, at St. Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Ala.

Frank is the husband of the late Viola Riley McKnight. He leaves behind three children, Sandra McDaniel and her husband Frank, Emily Wagers and Lannie McKnight; seven grandchildren, Amanda Dominguez, Pedro Dominguez, Joey Ard, J.P. Wagers, Lisa Nilson, Frankie McDaniel, and Gena Ard; eight great-grandchildren, Scotty, Connie, Amy, Joey III, Jayden, Jena, Zac, and Krissy; seven great-great-grandchildren, Bela, David, Allie, J.R., Jake, Gaven, and Garred; and one sister, Gloria Ragus.

Frank was born and raised in New Orleans, and lived most of his life in Chalmette. After Hurricane Katrina, he lost his wife and moved in with his daughter Sandra, where he lived out the rest of his life. Frank made peace with the Lord and was baptized at Bible Baptist Church in Fairhope. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran and served in World War II.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Saturday, Sept. 23, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. The Rev. Richard Ullo will officiate and the interment will be held at Wallace Cemetery, with military honors provided by the Magic City Post #24 of the American Legion, with the Patriot Guard assisting.
