Frances Chandler

Frances Yvonne Chandler “Tee” passed away at Lakeview Regional Medical Hospital on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the age of 79. She was born on April 16, 1938, in Tylertown, Miss., to the late Ted Rushing and Waver Magee. She was married to the late Frank Chandler.

She accepted Christ at an early age and actively attended Lear Hill C.O.G.I.C. In her later years, she became a member of the family church, Magee’s Temple C.O.G.I.C., under the leadership of the late Supt. Monroe Magee. With the desire to experience life outside of Clifton, she met and married her late husband, Frank Chandler of Bastrop. In this union, seven children were born.

Tee’s legacy continues on through the lives of her seven children, Alvin Chandler, Frank Chandler Jr., Robin Chandler, Beverly Chandler and Roney Chandler, all of Franklinton, Ora Chamberlain of Conyers, Ga., and Roddrick (Danielle) Gains of Chalmette; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; six siblings, Mary Causey of Franklinton, Alice Faye Duncan of New Orleans, Geraldine Alford, Harvell Harvey and Larry Harvey of California, and Pearlean Sims of Hampton, Ga.; a sister-in-law, Vernell Rushing of Franklinton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Waver Rushing; aunt and uncle, Pearlie and Mattie Lee Harvey; one son, Calvin Chandler; and brother, James Rushing.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Sept. 23, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with the funeral following at 11 a.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Franklinton, with Pastor Cecealine Tate officiating.
