The Bogalusa Police Department Auxiliary is inviting everyone to celebrate “I love the 80s” by going “back to the days of metal bands and big hair” in an event at the B&C Hall on Saturday, Sept. 23.

The party to celebrate “the best decade yet” will start at 6 p.m., and somebody who attends will go home $1,000 richer.

Kay Evans, who was one of those who worked on the project, explained how the money would be awarded.

“It’s an elimination dinner,“ she said. “Everybody who comes will get a number at the door. Numbers will be pulled and called throughout the night. The last number will win the thousand dollars.”

Evans said the Bogalusa community would be the biggest winner.

“The proceeds will go to the Bogalusa Police Department Benevolence Fund, so they can be used to help out within the community, or if the city can’t afford something we need,” she said.

She added that the event would include “food, a DJ, and 80s music all night long.”
