Sandra L. Dunaway, 77, passed away on Aug. 28, 2017, in Los Angeles, Calif.
She was born and raised in Bogalusa. She relocated to Los Angeles in the early sixties where she and her husband, Neldon Dunaway owned a successful construction company, as well as a dog grooming salon. Sandy dedicated her life to pet lovers and their animal companions.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, Ansil E. Brumfield and Tillie B. Brumfield; an infant daughter; her husband, Neldon Dunaway; her sister and brother-in-law, Edna Lynn and Howard (Buck) Jordan; her nephew Howard Jordan Jr.; and her long-time partner, Richard Felperin.
She is survived by her niece, Kim Jordan of Los Angeles; her great-nephew, Jason Jordan, and his wife Jaime; and their children, Kennedy, Kendall and Jack, all of Houston, Texas. She will be missed by special friends, Ellen Newth and Sheryl Finke of Los Angeles.
Sandra’s desire was to be cremated. A memorial service will be held in Los Angeles, with burial at Ponemah Cemetery at a later date. Sandra’s wish was that friends remember her by donating to a “no-kill” animal shelter of their choosing.
