Joseph Richardson passed away on Monday, Sept. 11, 2017. He was a native of Amite, and a resident of Bogalusa.

He was the husband of Joyce Jacobs Richardson; father of Andre Richardson, Valencia (George) Sanders, and Daphne (Frederick) Hall; stepfather of April (Gary) Brister; and brother of Superintendent Emmitt (Carolyn) Richardson Sr., Earl Lee (Diane) Richardson Sr. and Darnell (Gayle) Richardson Sr. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Dorothy (the late Samuel) Richardson; one godchild, Deandria Harrell; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, also pastor, officers and member of Louisiana East First Jurisdiction, Gordon-Richardson Temple of Deliverance C.O.G.I.C., St. John Temple C.O.G.I.C., Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Disabled Veteran Association, Southern University Alumni Association and Tangipahoa Parish School Board are invited to attend the funeral service at Gordon-Richardson Temple of Deliverance C.O.G.I.C., located at 10390 Highway 1045 in Amite, at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 17. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.

Dismissal service will be at 11 a.m. from the church on Monday, Sept. 18. Interment will be at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Slidell.
