Libraries taking Harvey supplies
Published 4:48 am Friday, September 1, 2017
All branches of the Washington Parish Library will assist community efforts by serving as reception points for relief aid to the victims of Hurricane Harvey. People are asked to bring cleaning supplies, non-perishable food items, pet supplies, infant supplies, and personal care items to the Franklinton headquarters, and to the Bogalusa, Enon, and Thomas branch libraries.
Patrons may even settle fines by donating to the cause.
The library asks that people bring the requested items to the branch libraries so they can be sent to those in need.
For patrons owing fines, the value of donated items may be applied toward the fees as they do for their “Food for Fines” in April and October every year.
For more information, call the Franklinton library at 985-839-7805.
The Washington Parish District No. 7 Fire Station located at 17380 Bill Booty Road will also be a drop-off point for people who have items for the Hurricane Harvey victims.
