Linda Kirkland

Linda Stevenson Kirkland, born Dec. 27, 1946, went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 29, 2017, at the age of 70. She was a longtime resident of Bogalusa and worked in the medical profession for many years. Linda was of the Pentecostal faith.

She leaves behind two sisters, Lucille Rayborn of Picayune, Miss., and Jackie King Dugas of Bogalusa; several nieces and nephews and other family members; a longtime childhood friend, Ronald Mapes of Texas; and her special pet, “Tippy.”

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Monroe and Doris Lawrence Stevenson; her husband, J.D. Kirkland; a brother, Homer Stevenson; and three sisters, Wilma Mitchell, Marigayle Cooper and Carol Turner.

A special thanks to the Heart of Hospice and those who provided care.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 1, at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home beginning at 10 a.m. until the service time at 2 p.m. The Rev. Travis Houston will officiate the services, with the interment to follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens on Spring Valley Road in Bogalusa.
