Josie D. Taylor, 82, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away Aug. 24, 2017, in Baton Rouge.

She leaves to mourn her passing: one daughter, Debra Taylor, of Baton Rouge; three brothers, Fred Tate of Baton Rouge, Oliver Tate of Denver, Colo., and LeRoy Tate of Chicago, Ill.; and one sister, Marie Brumfield of New Orleans, LA.

She was preceded in death by her father Donice Tate; mother, Gladys Simmons; two brothers, Wiley Tate and Steven Tate; and two sisters, Thelma Bickham and Eloise Tate.

The visitation will be 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton with Pastor Christopher Tate officiating. The interment will be held in St. James Cemetery.
