A delivery truck stolen from a Franklinton business, Thor Fabrication on Highway 25, in the middle of the night late last month has been recovered, according to co-owner Troy Schiro and officials with the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Schiro was the first to report.
“The Orange Beach, Ala., police found our stolen truck,” he said. “The truck was out of diesel and abandoned in Alabama. The Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office is reviewing the evidence found.”
A WPSO official said on Monday, “The truck was discovered and recovered a few days ago by the Orange Beach, Ala., Police Department. Washington Parish Detectives continue to work on identifying the thief or thieves.”
Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal said he was appreciative that the truck had been found.
“We are grateful to the Orange Beach Police Department for their fine work recovering the stolen truck,” Seal said. “This is a great reminder to all would be thieves that we participate in a national criminal justice data network that enables us to work cooperatively with other law enforcement agencies throughout the United States. All thieves may be assured that we will continue to identify and pursue them with the goal of putting them in jail where they belong.”
