Sara May Fairchild Mitchell, 97, passed away on Aug. 10, 2017, at Our Lady of the Angles Hospital in Bogalusa. She was a resident of Resthaven Living Center in Bogalusa and member of Mt Pleasant Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, William Martin Mitchell III of Bogalusa; three daughters, Margaret R. Mitchell Hill of Bogalusa, Nancy Richmond of Tylertown, Miss., and Sarah Ruth Richardson of Varnado; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Martin Mitchell II; daughter, May Ann Mitchell Easterling; parents, William and Lucy Fairchild; brothers, William Edward Fairchild and Robert Leroy Fairchild.

Visitation will be in the chapel of Brown-McGehee Funeral Home on Sunday, Aug. 13, beginning at 10 a.m. until time for services in the chapel at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery at Varnado.
