Bogalusa man faces several drug charges

A Bogalusa man was arrested on 10 drug charges Thursday, according to Maj. Percy Knight of the Bogalusa Police Department.
“On Aug. 3, the patrol officers from shift ‘D’ got information about a large amount of methamphetamines in a residence located in the 800 block of Avenue D,” Knight said. “Officers obtained a search warrant to search the residence for narcotics.”
“During their search of the residence, the officers found a suitcase that contained marijuana, Suboxone, a scale and empty baggies for resale of drugs in a bedroom,” Knight said.
“In a closet, they located a jacket that contained pills packaged for sale, 17.47 grams of meth packaged for sale, and empty baggies.
“And in another bedroom, a large case of cold medicine was located. Cold medicine is used for the ingredients for the preparation of crystal meth.”
Randy S. Courtney, 40, was arrested on the following charges: three counts of possession with intent to distribute Schedule II drugs, conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute Schedule II drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to distribute Schedule III drugs, two counts of possession with intent to distribute Schedule IV drugs, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a drug free zone, and possession with intent to distribute Schedule I drugs (marijuana).
Knight said Courtney was also carrying a large amount of cash, at the time of his arrest.
