A pair of Northshore Charter School teachers were recently recognized with “Golden Apple” awards for Washington Parish, from NBC station WDSU in New Orleans.
The recipients were kindergarten teacher Bridgette Knight and second grade teacher Jennifer Eskue.
In order to be eligible for the Golden Apple award, a teacher must first be nominated by a student and the student’s parent. After being nominated, visitors to the station’s website are invited to vote for the Golden Apple award for the best teacher within each of the 12 participating parishes.
Knight will receive $600 worth of school supplies for her classroom.
Eskue was nominated by one of her student’s grandparents. She was honored at a banquet, along with the recipients from the other parishes, and received $500 to spend in my classroom.
