More than 300 people came to the Bogalusa City School Board campus on Sullivan Drive on Wednesday afternoon for a joint registration drive and meet-and-greet for new system superintendent Lisa Tanner.

At the end of the day, 22 students were pre-registered for grades kindergarten through 12, and 15 were on the waiting list for pre-K 4, which is currently full.

Tanner mingled with the educators, students, and parents, enveloping all with her energetic enthusiasm. She hugged people, and apparently couldn’t keep herself from dancing.

“I think this is wonderful,” she said. “We want everybody to know we’re ready. We’re prepared and ready to go.

“The new mantra is, ‘We know where we’ve been, now watch where we’re going!’ Great days ahead.”
