Carolyn Elizabeth Fortenberry Simmons, 56, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2017, at her home in Bogalusa. She was born on Aug. 2, 1960, in Cameron, Texas.

She is survived by two brothers, Alan (LuAnne) Fortenberry and Mark Fortenberry, both of Bogalusa, LA; a niece and five nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, H. D. Fortenberry and Gloria Mildred Halberdier Fortenberry; and a sister, Ann Pritchard.

Visitation will be held at Mt. Olive Baptist Church on Thursday, July 27, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Memorial services will begin at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Jeffery Touchstone officiating. There will be no graveside services after the memorial services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to “Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home, 216 Alabama Avenue, Bogalusa, LA 70427.”
