Isaac ‘Doc’ Creel

Isaac Franklin Creel, known as “Doc,” 74, of Franklinton, died at 12:28 p.m. on July 6, 2017, at his residence.

He was a teacher for 32 years, having taught at Sullivan Vo-Tech, the University of Mississippi and Rayburn Correctional Center. He enjoyed reading magazines. He enjoyed riding his tractor on his farm. He was the president of the Washington Parish Ham Radio Club and had the call sign of “WA5CWE.” He had a special place in his heart for his dog Jazzy. He was a loving husband, father and friend.

He is survived by his daughter, Brianna Temple Creel of Franklinton; sister-in-law, Nina Creel of Central; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Yvone and Jerry Stewart of Chattanooga, Tenn.; nieces/nephews and spouses, Rachel Stewart and Kim Swanson, Derrick Guin, Donna Jean and Nathan Clark, Nancy C. and Chuck Hill, and Mark and Linda Creel.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Lydia Guin Creel; his parents, E.M. and Alma Temple Creel; brother Elyn Creel; nephews, Karl Creel and Greg Creel; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, W.W. and Ammel House Guin; and brother-in-law, Don Guin.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home on Monday, July 10, from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Tuesday. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. David Easterling officiating. Burial will follow in the Fisher United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Billy Passman, J.T. Thomas, Charlie Boyd, Herbie Williams,

Earl Creel, Billy Davis, Rodney Bourdreaux and Adam Thomas.
