June Wheat Stafford passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at her home in Bogalusa. Mrs. Stafford was a resident of Bogalusa. She was born on Feb. 24, 1950, in Bogalusa.

She is survived by her husband, Huey “Pug” Stafford; two sons, Scott Wheat (Nikki), and Steven Smith (Alicia); her mother, Betty June Wheat Stogner; her sister, Beverly Wheat Martin (Billy); two brothers, Charles Ray Wheat (Sandi), and Robert Harrel Wheat; two step-daughters, Jodi Gaudet (Glen), and Angelica Stafford; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a special aunt, Ella Day; and two special uncles, Robert Earl Wheat and Joe Ray Wheat.

She is preceded in death by her father, Harrel Wheat; her grandparents, Robert C. Wheat (Grace); her sister, Brenda Wheat Taylor; her stepfather, William R. Stogner, Jr.; and her mother-in-law, Betty Hammons.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Saturday, July 15, from 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Dan Finley and the Rev. Joe Ray Wheat officiating. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
