Buddy “Butch” K. Miller

Buddy “Butch” K. Miller, 78, of Clyde, N.C., passed away at his home, surrounded by family on Friday, July 7, 2017.

He was born in Dallas, Texas, on Jan. 22, 1939, to the late George and Frances Starling Miller and is also preceded in death by three children, Matthew, Jason, and Osa.

Butch is survived by the mother of his children, Patricia R. Miller; one daughter, Karen Miller of Bogalusa; his two sons, Michael (Bonnie Jean) Miller of Hammond, and Scott (Heather) Miller of Ponchatoula; one sister, Mary Starling of Brevard, N.C.; along with seven grandchildren, Austin, Elizabeth, Katherine, Lauren, Lacey, Max and Ashley and seven great-grandchildren.

He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea. Butch was stationed in Fort Lewis for remaining time in service. Butch enjoyed music immensely; playing the drums, listening to early blues and big band. He was an artist who painted watercolors. His hobbies included gardening and he was a wonderful cook. Above all, Butch loved his family, especially his grand and great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at a later date in Louisiana.
