Cheryl Murdock

Cheryl Ann Amacker Murdock, 67, of Gulfport, Miss., passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017, in Gulfport.

Cheryl was born Oct. 31, 1949, in Bogalusa, to Willis Barnes Amacker and Elvia Ixl Amacker. She attended Bogalusa High School in Bogalusa, and graduated from Louisiana State University, where she was a Golden Girl, with a Bachelor’s Degree of Psychology. Cheryl received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from San Diego State University and was a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a private practice in Gulfport. She retired from Civil Service at Keesler Medical Center in Biloxi.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and her beloved brother, Ronald Willis Amacker.

Cheryl leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Laurel BreAnne Murdock; her nephews, Timothy Christian Amacker, Corey Blake Amacker and Randy Joseph Bouquet; her sister-in-law, Katrina Amacker; her great-nephews, Logan and Brody; her cherished cousins; and many members of the Coast’s theatre family and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made in Cheryl’s memory to the Biloxi Little Theatre, P.O. Box 955, Biloxi, MS 39533, to support the youth in the arts programs.

A private graveside service will be held at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Bogalusa.
