Abe Wilson

Abe C. Wilson was born Aug. 8, 1936, in Franklinton. He was the second of three sons born to Theodore Wilson, Sr., and Alma (Magee) Wilson. He was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church, where he found a relationship with the Lord and taught Sunday School for a while. After completing high school, he went into the U.S. Air Force and served his country during the Korean War as an Air Force mechanic.

Abe was always a hardworking man and a lover of the land. He was employed with the Bogalusa Paper Mill. Since retirement, he has returned to work the land of his family with growing crops of sugarcane and blueberries.

Abe is proceeded in death by his father, Theodore Wilson Sr.; mother, Alma Wilson; two brothers, Theodore Wilson Jr. and Myrtis L. Wilson; brothers-in-law, Dock Butler Jr. and Francis Dadzie; nephew, Victor “Rick” Dunham; and nieces, Dorothy Ann-Moore and Judy Butler.

He leaves to cherish his memories two daughters, Teresa W. (Cardell) Brumfield of Slidell, and Vickie W. (Gerald) Frith of Rochester, N.Y.; four granddaughters, Michala and Mia Brumfield of Slidell, and Leah and Kayla Frith of Rochester; four sisters, Bobbie (Hamilton) Burris, Zelda (Dock) Dyson, Nercelia Butler and Hynetia “Tutti” Dadzie; two sisters-in-law, Othel Wilson and JoAnn Wilson, all of Franklinton; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles and friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 1, at Cook-Richmond Funeral Home in Franklinton, at 1 p.m.
