Walter Jones Ross Jr. was born on March 7, 1961, in New Orleans to Walter Jones Ross Sr. and Winnie Eva James. He departed this life on June 6, 2017, in Baton Rouge.
Walter Ross Jr. was a graduate of the Bogalusa High School class of 1979.
He leaves to cherish his memory: two daughters, Cortney Ross (Rashad) Johnson of Houston, Texas, and Brittany Ross (Desmond) Lopez of Lafayette; two brothers, Gerald Felix (Jackie) Ross of Biloxi, Miss., and Pastor James Edward (Leslie) Ross of Texarkana, Texas; three sisters, Elder Irene (Henry) Matthews of Oak Park, Mich., Eunice Patrice Ross of New Orleans, and Elder Stephanie M. Ross of Houston; five grandchildren, Jaidyn U. Johnson, Elijah R. Johnson and Caleb J. Johnson of Houston, and Gabriella D. Lopez and Zedekiah E. Lopez of Lafayette; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Walter Jones Ross Sr., Winnie James Williams and Willard Williams Sr.; grandparents, L.J. Hammond, Nadine Smith Hammond, Felix Rawls and Ruth Rawls.
Visitation will be held Saturday, June 24, from 9 a.m. until noon, followed by the funeral service at noon at the chapel of Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa, with pastor James E. Ross officiating.
Interment will be in the Bogalusa Cemetery.
