Yancey Brent Crain, 51, of Pine, died Saturday evening, June 3, 2017, at his home.

He was a graduate of Pine High School and a former salesman for Redmont Trading Co., as well as other wholesale flooring companies through the years, before working alongside his brother and family at Bennie’s Garden Center for the last several years.

Brent loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He was a jack-of-all-trades and worked well with his hands, building just about anything. He enjoyed traveling to the Smokey Mountains and riding his John Deere tractor with his grandchildren. Brent cherished the time spent with his family and friends.

He is survived by: two daughters, Megan Crain of Pine, and Ashley Spears of Jackson, Miss.; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Brent Jonathan “B.J.” Crain, and Trent and Michelle Crain, all of Pine; 11 grandchildren; mother, Nell Davis Crain of Pine; brother, Bennie E. Crain of Franklinton; and sister, Deanie C. Ingram of Pine.

He was preceded in death by his father, Benard C. Crain.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 7, from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday, June 8, at Pine Missionary Baptist Church from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. A funeral service will be held in the church at 11 a.m. Thursday, with Bro. Brent King and Bro. Clyde Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Community Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Tommy Toney, Rob Stanley, Charles Kennedy, Brad Stuart, Donald Chaisson and Ryan Schillings. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Ramshur, Mike Davis, Will Branch and Darrin Kennedy.
