Lavon Ingram

Lavon Thomas Ingram, 65, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017, at his residence in Bogalusa. He was employed for 19 years with Crown Zellerbach-Timber Division and 14 years with Delta Printing in Bogalusa. He was an avid genealogy researcher who loved his family and enjoyed telling stories of his childhood. He also enjoyed watching baseball especially his favorite team, the Houston Astros.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ida Nell Ingram; two daughters, Ivy Ingram of Franklinton, and Casey Varnado (Chris) of Bogalusa; grandchildren, Cody Cook (Jade), Joshua Cook (Hannah), Kassidi Varnado, Yancey Nicholson (Halley), Kaiti Varnado, Caleb Varnado, Blake Kennedy, Kaleb Kennedy and Hank Varnado, all of Bogalusa; and four great-grandchildren, Christopher, Madolin, Charlie and Kierstyn. He is also survived by numerous family members who were very special to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Esley Ingram and Onetha Miley Ingram; three brothers, Milton Ingram, William Ingram and Bobby Ingram; paternal grandparents, Benjamin and Rose Ingram; and maternal grandparents, Morgan and Florence Miley.

Services were held at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home in Bogalusa with visitation on Sunday, June 4 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation continued Monday, June 5, from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 2 p.m., in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Chad Jenkins and the Rev. Gregory Russell officiating. Interment followed in the Miley Cemetery on Seven Mile Road in Pine.
