Marie Kirk Villemeur Myers, born Aug. 22, 1955, in New Orleans, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 15, 2017, at Lakeview Regional Medical Hospital at the age of 61. She was the daughter of James and Nell Kirk, and was the last of six children. Marie was of the Baptist Faith.
Marie is survived by her son, David Villemeur Jr.; a grandson, Kieth Villemeur of Newport News, Va.; two sisters, Rachel Kirk Weger of Indianapolis, and Opal Irene Kirk Grab and her husband John of Covington; and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James V. Kirk and Nell Castay Kirk; her husband, David Myers; a brother, James V. Kirk Jr.; and two sisters, Rhoda Kirk Charrier and Janice Kirk Walley.
Marie was a dedicated employee of Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa. A special thanks and acknowledgement to her dear friend and coworker, Debra Davis, for her steadfast assistance during Marie’s time of need.
Memorial services will be held at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home, located at 610 Ave. F, on Tuesday, June 6, at 6 p.m., with the Rev. John Herring officiating the services.
