Shelton Dyess, 70, a resident of Bogalusa, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Lakeview Manor Nursing Home of New Roads. He was born on June 29, 1946, in Sumrall, Miss.

He is survived by a daughter, Becky Dyess Part (Nick) of New Roads; a son, Mark Dyess (Bridget) of Bogalusa; two sisters, Bert Bass of Prentiss, Miss., and Betty Hudson of Collins, Miss.; and his grandchildren, Anna Claire Part, and Forest Brayden Part, Madelyn Dyess, Peyton Dyess, Brantley Dyess, and Cadence Dyess.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann Waltman Dyess; his son, John Lee Dyess; his sister, Joyce King; and his brother, Huey Dyess.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Saturday, May 27, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will continue at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, May 28, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Clay Norwood officiating. Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens.
