Peggy Lou Welch McDaniel, 78, a resident of Franklinton, died Wednesday morning May 17, 2017, at her home.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and also a member of Stony Point Missionary Baptist Church. Peggy had retired after many years as a secretary with the Adult Education Department of the Washington Parish School System. Alongside her husband, she operated McDaniel and Associates Real Estate Brokers for 25 years. She always enjoyed visiting with her family and friends.

She is survived by: son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Connie McDaniel of Franklinton; two grandsons, Eric McDaniel and Lauren Wheat of Franklinton, and Michael McDaniel of Hattiesburg, Miss.; great-granddaughter, Caroline McDaniel; sister and brother-in-law, Betty Ruth and Clyde Breeden of Richland, Miss.; brother and sister-in-law, Wilfred Welch Jr. and Nita Welch of Laurel, Miss.; and also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Bobby K. McDaniel Sr.; an infant son, Bobby K. McDaniel Jr.; and her parents, Wilfred Welch Sr. and Bessie Davis Welch.

Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home on Thursday, May 18, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will continue Friday, May 19, at Stony Point Missionary Baptist Church from 10 a.m. until noon. A funeral service will be held in the church at noon Friday with Bro. Brent King and Bro. Percy Frazier officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Wilvie Cox, Don McDaniel, James Bankston, Wayne Cox, Kinell Cox and Durwood Smith.
