RV spots have already sold out for festival

The Bogalusa Blues and Heritage Festival didn’t announce this year’s lineup until this week. So the fact that all 35 RV spaces sold out in just 15 days, two weeks earlier, must be dependent upon the past experiences of out-of-towners who have been to BBHF 1-5.

BBHF Executive Director Malinda White explained.

“We only have so many spaces, and we have people from all over that have come from year one, so we give them the courtesy of opening it for a short time to them first,” she said. “Then we open it up to the general public.”

BBHF 6 will take place in Cassidy Park on Sept. 29-30.

This week it was reported that 19 VIP tickets and 66 weekend passes had already been sold. A total of 22 tent camping spaces have been sold, but there are more still available.

White said she is not surprised.

“I think a lot of people are excited,” she said. “We’re getting a good response and that’s reflecting in our numbers. The lineup includes a lot of performers that work together over the year. They regularly entertain and play and create music together, and we purposely planned it that way.

“We think people have a reason to be excited. We think we’re going to see some great entertainment. And as usual, our goal is to bring a diverse range of blues styles. We’ve done it again.”
