War exhibit slated

The Museums of Cassidy Park might have been flooded out of the park, but they’re still contributing to the remembrance of Bogalusa past.

Now, the folks in charge have a plan to replace the Campfire display at the Bogalusa branch library with a Memorial Day tribute to those who have died in wars from World War I on up, but time is short.

The deceased veterans don’t have to be from Bogalusa — anyone from Washington Parish qualifies. Museums volunteers ask anybody who has a relative that served America and died to send their pictures to sandybloom@bellsouth.net or to call Bloom at 985-516-3408.

Any stories involving the pictured ones’ service would only add to the memorial, so write and send their stories for inclusion.

The museums would like to receive everything, including pictures and stories, by Monday, May 15.
