A new music festival is heading to Cassidy Park in late spring.

Dracus “D Star” Sartin recently announced that he will team up with the Red Zone Bar and Grill to produce what is being billed as “The First Annual 985 Go Live Bogalusa Park Day Festival in Cassidy Park,” from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 3. Admission is free of charge.

“We’re saying BYOG, bring your own grill and find a spot in the park to get comfortable,” Sartin said. “There will be live music, live entertainment, a live DJ and a ‘Jumping Jupiter’ for the kids.”

That’s in addition to acres of wooded parkland, resident ducks and geese, and a very popular Splash Pad.

There will be performers from Baton Rouge and Mississippi, but the spotlight will be on the local talent, he said.

“There is a lot of talent from Bogalusa, and we want to give them the opportunity to be seen and heard,” said Sartin, who manages the Jump Off Committee.

Potential festival vendors, volunteers and performers should contact Sartin at 985-294-1958 or online at hilevelpromotions@gmail.com.
