Tarras Godbolt

Tarras Yardan Godbolt, 51, a native of Bogalusa, died peacefully on May 4, 2017, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge.
Tarras was born to Brenda Washington Godbolt and the late Ellis James Godbolt Sr., on July 5, 1965.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his daughter, Whitney Godbolt and grandson, Treyvonne Mays both of Austin, Texas; his mother, Brenda Godbolt of Bogalusa; brothers, Frederick (Janet) Godbolt and Cory (Tieshia) Pearson; stepbrother, Donald Grinstead, all of Bogalusa; sister, Rachelle (William) Stewart and Robin Short, both of Bogalusa; aunts, Shirley Godbolt Holloway and Brenda Spann Godbolt, both of Bogalusa; uncles, J.D. Godbolt Jr., Lamont Godbolt and Burdex (Yolanda) Washington, all of Bogalusa; special cousin, Sabastion Levi of Bogalusa, and god-sister/cousin, Melissa Hawthorne of Dallas, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ellis James Godbolt Sr.; grandparents, J.D. (Louise) Godbolt Sr., and Walter (Mattie Louise) Washington Sr., step-mother, Carolyn Grinstead; brothers, Ellis James Godbolt Jr. and Calvin Short; aunts, Barbara Godbolt Norris, Jacqueline Sartin Godbolt and Johnnie Mae Fields; uncles, Benny E. Godbolt, Walter Washington Jr. and Donald Norris.
Visitation will be Friday, May 12, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. and family hour from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 13, at Greater Salters Chapel A.M.E., with the Rev. Lloyd Guy officiating.
