Choctaw Landfill now accepts some plastic recyclable items

The Choctaw Landfill recycling facility, located at 22249 Choctaw Road in Franklinton, is now accepting some plastic products for recycling.

The facility is accepting No. 1 and No. 2 plastics only. To determine which plastics are acceptable, check for the recycling symbol with a number inside the arrows. It is usually located on the bottom of the bottle or plastic packaging.

Examples of No. 1 plastic products include water and drink bottles, Gatorade bottles, mayonnaise and ketchup bottles, juice bottles, bakery containers, vitamin and medicine bottles, and mouthwash bottles. Examples of No. 2 plastic products include milk jugs, bleach jugs, detergent containers, cat litter jugs, alcohol bottles and peroxide bottles.

No bags or wrappers will be accepted.
