An argument over a game of dominoes led to a shooting in Bogalusa on Tuesday, and warrants were issued for two suspects in connection to what officers are calling an attempted murder.

Major Percy Knight, public information officer for the Bogalusa Police Department, reported that on Tuesday at 10:42 p.m., the BPD received a call about a person being shot behind the O’Neil Apartments on East 6th Street.

The male victim, who is 52 years old, told officers that he and some other people were playing dominoes and cards when a woman, Adrian Ishman, 31, wanted to join the game.

When the victim told Ishman no, she proceeded to turn the card table over and an argument ensued, Knight said. Ja’Michael Roberts, 19, who was with Ishman, then reportedly joined the argument and he pulled out a handgun.

Knight said that Roberts shot the victim one time in the upper left torso with the 9-millimeter handgun.

The victim was transported by ambulance to Our Lady Of the Angels Hospital, where he was treated and released.

Knight said that a warrant has been issued for Roberts for attempted second-degree murder, and a warrant has also been issued for Ishman for accessory after the fact to attempted second-degree murder.
