Proponents of the recent push to make Bogalusa smoke-free will get to listen to live music in tobacco-free comfort this Saturday. The Mustang lounge at 737 Avenue F will host a smoke-free, admission-free night, with music provided by the Rockaholics, a new, local Rock and Roll band that plays hit songs of the 70s, 80s, and 90s from 8 p.m. Saturday until 12 a.m. Sunday.

“Our band wanted to get involved with a smoke-free event because none of us smoke cigarettes, and we were excited to see that Bogalusa is going to become smoke-free in July,” said Rockaholic Brian “Bambi” Mizell. “We love to play out in the local bars but the aftereffects from the cigarette smoke we know is detrimental to our health.

“We met with Jaime Bruins from the Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco-Free Living organization at City Hall. Jaime said that her organization would sponsor our band to play at a local bar and invite the public to come out for a smoke-free event.”

The band talked to Kevin Anderson who owns the Mustang lounge and everybody agreed to do the event there on Saturday, April 29.

“Our band, The Rockaholics will be playing some good old rock ‘n’ roll music from the 70s, 80s, and 90s, and we hope to see the public come out and support Mustang lounge for this great smoke free event,” Mizell said.
