About 100 people, representing at least seven area churches, attended a community prayer event at the intersection of Sunny Hill Road and Pleasant Hill Road in Mt. Hermon on Tuesday, to pray for the victims and the perpetrators of the barrage of gunfire that hit that area in the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 11.

Brother Randal Garcia, pastor of Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church, set the event in motion.

Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal gave an update about the ongoing investigation, after an inspirational speech presented by Merty Fitzmorris, prayer director of Mt. Hermon UPC.

Seal said a reward of $3,000 has been authorized by the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office for information leading to the arrests of the people responsible for the crime.

He added that if any person or organization feels led to contribute to this reward, they should contact him at his office.

Seal closed the event with a prayer.
