Early voting continues in parish

Early voting for the April 29 election, which began last Saturday, will continue through Saturday, April 22, in Washington Parish.

A local issue, which is sure to get voters out, is the Washington Parish School Board’s consolidated bond issue for District 4. It is a $28 million, 20-year bond issue. If it passes, it will provide classroom additions and other improvements at both Pine Junior/Senior High School and at Thomas Elementary School. It would also fund a new Franklinton Junior High School.

Early voting will be open at the Registrar of Voters Office, in the parish courthouse in Franklinton from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. through April 22.

On the east end of the parish, the early voters can cast their ballots at Northshore Technical College in Bogalusa from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. The remaining two of four days that will be possible are Friday, April 21 and Saturday, April 22.

Some voters on that end of the parish will not be able to vote on the bond issue, since it is outside of their area.

Voters are reminded to bring a photo ID.
