Jessie M. Miller passed away April 7, 2017, at her home in Franklinton. She was born to the late Purvis and Lona Anthony in Franklinton.
She attended Washington Parish School System in Franklinton and she was a lifelong resident and worked as a housekeeper.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel L. Miller; and her son, Louis Sylvester “Tyrone” Miller.
Jessie leaves to cherish and continue her spiritual legacy and beautiful memories, Janice (Booker) Holloway of Greenville, Miss., Patricia (Michael-deceased) Pickett of Franklinton, Jerome (Mamie) Miller of Independence, Adelene (Gilbert) Nunez of Franklinton, Terry (Shinita) Miller of Jackson, Miss., Samuel C. (Fay) Miller of Visalia, Calif., Donna L. “Penny’ Adams” of Franklinton; a special son/grandson, Gavin Miller; and a beloved daughter, Chekeitha M. Anders of New Orleans; two brothers, John (Marcia) Anthony of Bakersfield, Calif., and Silas Bickham of Franklinton. In addition, she leaves 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. Also dear to her was her close neighborhood friends, Nellie Mae Lundy and Bessie Lee Manning. She cherished her long time “running buddies,” Sandra Pierce, Betty Walters and Lori Burton.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 15, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness and the service will be at Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witness, on Saturday, April 15, at 2 p.m., with Brother Pat Ritchie officiating.
