Schranga Lawrence

Mrs. Schranga Holloway Lawrence passed away in her home on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the age of 75.
Schranga was a resident of Picayune, Miss., and a former resident of Bogalusa.
She was born on March 19, 1941 in Bogalusa, where she remained for the next 20 years. She moved to Picayune after retiring, to continue teaching and spend more time with her family.
She attended LSU, where she received a master of arts degree in education. She taught special education in Bogalusa before switching to the high school level where she taught English and Spanish. She retired from Bogalusa after 33 years but continued teaching for another 10 years or so at Bowling Green, Ben’s Ford Christian School and Picayune Jr. High School. Children were the love of her life.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Nicholson.
She is survived by one son, Terry Keith Lawrence Jr. and his wife Donna of Bogalusa; one daughter, Krystal Marie Lawrence of Picayune; six grandchildren, Joshua, Brittany, TK, Lacie, Jennifer and Scott; and eight great-grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends. She is also survived by a special sister, Deborah Holloway Blackburn.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Terry Keith Lawrence Sr.; one sister, Janice Holloway Tullos; and two brothers, Jimmy (Peanut) Holloway and Marshall Holloway; as well as her parents, James V and Oda Lee Holloway.
The wake was held at the Picayune Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 15, and continued on Thursday March 16, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church at 11 a.m. until the service at noon. The Rev. Rusty Kuhn officiated.
Burial followed in Wallace Cemetery in Bogalusa.
