On Friday, Gov. John Bel Edwards announced his appointments to several Louisiana boards and commissions, and a Washington Parish man was among them.

Brett W. Stafford, of Franklinton, was reappointed to the Respiratory Care Advisory Committee. Stafford is a licensed respiratory therapist and the RT clinical coordinator with St. Tammany Parish Hospital. As required by statute, he was nominated by the Louisiana Society of Respiratory Therapy.

Elizabeth M. Hamilton of Ringgold was also named to the committee Friday.

The Respiratory Care Advisory Committee safeguards the health, safety, and welfare of the people of this state against the unauthorized, unqualified, and improper practice of respiratory therapy, Edwards said.
