Joyce Evelyn Pounds Rice, 69, a resident of Franklinton, died at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Good Samaritan Living Center. She worked at Winn-Dixie in Ferriday and later in Franklinton before retiring as the seafood manager. Joyce enjoyed reading and using her computer to keep up with her many friends and family. She was a big NASCAR fan and enjoyed the times she went to the races, especially the time she saw Dale Earnhardt win at Talladega.
She is survived by: husband, Robert H. Rice of Franklinton; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ricky H. Rice of Laplace, and Brian Keith and Jocelyn Anglin of Ruskin, Fla.; granddaughter and spouse, Kelly and David Harper; two great-grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marti and Tom Inglehart of Baton Rouge, and Bonnie and Darwin Clegg of Prairieville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, James Allen Anglin; daughter, Robbie Merle McKenzie; and parents, James Emeril Pounds and Ava Lucille Stilley Pounds.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home on Saturday, March 11, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Eld. Duane Ball officiating.
