Martha Mooney

Martha Gayle Mooney, 59, born on May 24, 1957, in Baton Rouge, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017 at her home in Zachary. A beautiful soul loved by many. Listening to music, gardening, and cooking were some of her favorite things in life.

She is survived by her daughter, Leah Johnson (Darrin) of Watson; son, Joe Kenneth Mooney of Walker; her father, Kenneth Warner (Gwen) of Folsom; sisters, Madoline Morris (Mike) of McComb, Miss., and Gretchen Payne (Keith) of Watson; brother, Cliff Warner (Selena)of Zachary; grandchildren, Derrick Johnson, Laura Johnson , and Natalie Johnson; aunts and uncle, Marilyn McKenzie of Whitehouse, Tenn., Madoline Ellison, and Irma Cupit (Bobby) both of Magnolia, Miss.; uncle and aunt, Royce Warner (Marika) of Hattiesburg, Miss.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Gayle Austin Warner.

Visitation was held Sunday, March 5, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation continued on Monday, March 6, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mike Morris officiating. Interment will follow at Seal Cemetery.
