Sidney “Bo-Pete” Davis Jr. was born on Aug. 13, 1945, to Sidney and Eunice Davis in Bogalusa. He passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, in Lakeview Regional Medical Center.

Sidney Davis Jr. grew up in Bogalusa, where he attended Central Memorial High School. After attending high school, he joined the U.S. Army. He later retired from Washington St. Tammany Charity Hospital.

His memories will be cherished by his sister, Lee Audrey Cohea of Bogalusa; two brothers, Sherman (Debra) Davis of Slidell, and Anthony Davis of New Orleans; his god-daughter, Shawanda Fitzgerald of Baton Rouge; a special cousin, Calvin (Dorothy) Johnson of Bogalusa; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Eunice Davis, and a sister, Eugenia Davis.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 6, at the chapel of Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., with a family hour from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 7, at St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Bogalusa at noon, with Elder R.L. Palmer, pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in Duffy Memorial Garden in Bogalusa.
