Eddie McNeese

Eddie Elmo McNeese, 77, a resident of Pine, died Wednesday March 1, 2017.

He was retired as a project engineer with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development and a longtime member of Pine Missionary Baptist Church. Elmo was a former member of the U.S. Army Reserve.

He enjoyed spending time on the porch watching the many birds that visited his property each day. Upon retiring, he and his wife sold numerous items at the many auctions in the local area. Elmo loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by: his wife of 53 years, Delores Williams McNeese of Pine; two sons and daughters-in-law, Duane and Susan McNeese of Mt. Hermon, and Shane and Tina McNeese of Pine; five grandchildren, Jerri McNeese, Danica McNeese, Joshua McNeese, Cailyn McNeese and Wyatt McNeese; two brothers, Donald McNeese and David McNeese, both of Pine; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Edna Thomas of Pine, Marlene Fitzmorris of Covington, Gilda Passman of Franklinton, Julia and Walter Guchereau of Pine, and Sharon and Billy Simmons of Bogalusa; and also numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie N. McNeese and Alice Beall McNeese; a sister Mildred Stuart; and an infant brother.

Visitation was at Pine Missionary Baptist Church on Thursday, March 2, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and will continue after 9 a.m. Friday, March 3.

A funeral service will be held in the church at 11 a.m. Friday, March 3, with Elder Clyde Cooper, Elder Gerald King, Elder Edward Penton, and Elder Glen Stuart officiating. Burial will follow in the War Crain Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Travis Miley, Norman Graves, Steve McNeese, Kevin Garner, Billy Passman and David McNeese.

Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Thomas, Huey Thomas, Jim Thomas, Reed Lott, Randy Branch, Roy Crain, James Barber and James Bickham.
