Cynthia L. Dyson

Cynthia L. Dyson passed away on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington.

Cynthia was a servant of the Lord and lived to do his works. She was a dedicated member of Sweet Home Church of Christ Holiness USA. She was employed by the Washington Parish School System, where she was a para-professional for 32 and a half years.

Cynthia leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Dayon Dyson, of Franklinton; two daughters who she loved as her own, Kiaun Williams and Angela (Randy) Reed; one son that she also loved as her own, Scottie E. Washington; three god-daughters, Anastashia Young, Brian’Claire (Joshua) Williams, and Amy (Quenzell) Spikes; two grandsons, Jaylen and Richard; five granddaughters, Sabrina, Essence, Ebony, Madison, and Dayona; three great-grandsons, Jayce, Jaxen, and Aron; three sisters, Willie Robinson, Tyrounda Conerly, and Cathy (Oneal) Cotton, all of Franklinton; one brother, Roy (Katrina) Dyson of Laplace; four aunts, Dellarine Crain, Essie Mills, both of Baton Rouge, Valdora (Joseph) Snedecor of Zachary, and Fredda Sherman of Columbus, Ohio; two great-aunts, Velma Magee of New Orleans, and Betty Dyson of Bogalusa; five nephews, Roylayn Sr. (Vickie), DeQuantes, Roy III, Kylon, Willique; four nieces; Angel (Marcus), Sabrina (Faheem), Jadelyn, Diamond; and a special great nephew, RJ.

Cynthia is preceded in death by her grandson, Da’Quarrius Baker; her parents, Roy and Alexzine Dyson; two sisters, Dorothy and Linda Dyson; and one great-aunt, Henry Pearl Wilson.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24, at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton.

The funeral service will be Saturday, Feb. 25, at 11 a.m. at Sweet Home Church of Christ Holiness USA with Elder Washington Drake, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Sweet Home Cemetery.
