The GM&O Historical Society will hold its winter meet in Bogalusa this Saturday, offering railroad enthusiasts the chance to meet and mingle, view old photos of the railroad, and purchase vintage railroad merchandise.

The winter meet will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., at the historic depot on Austin Street.

Among the activities will be an audio-visual presentation by Hattiesburg, Miss., rail historian David Price. Price will speak regarding early logging railroads that serviced the Great Southern Lumber Company, as well as about “The Rebel,” the South’s first Streamliner.

Railroad memorabilia will be available for sale.
