Shon Spikes

On Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, Shon Peters Spikes went home to be with the Lord peacefully at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa. She was born July 11, 1961, in New Orleans to the late Helena Rogers Peters and Jonathan Peters.

Visitation will be held Monday, Feb. 20, at the chapel of Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. with pastor A. Dausha Spikes officiating.

Interment will follow in the Moses Cemetery in Angie.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Luther Charles Spikes Sr. of Baton Rouge; one son, Luther Charles (Keonta) Peters of Fort Stewart, Ga.; one daughter, Prinavia Charva Williams of New Orleans; grandchildren, Landon M. Williams of New Orleans, and Laylah K. Peters and Leah K. Peters of Fort Stewart; father, Jonthan (Mary) Peters of LaPlace; three brothers, Paul Anthony Peters of Avondale, Charles Anthony Peters of Silver Spring, Md., and Toriano Joseph (De’Beauchee) Peters Sr. of Bogalusa; two sisters, Johnnica Simone Peters of Bogalusa and Nakia (Derrick) Peters Walker of Avondale; mother-in-law, Juanita Weary Spikes of Varnado; godchildren, Tyrone Moffett of New Orleans and Precious Sylvester of Violet; three young men she helped raise like sons, Cannon, Gaines and Shelby Hanks of Baton Rouge; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Helena Rogers Peters; sister, Kimberly Jo Peters; grandparents, Clara Payne Rogers, Freddie Rogers, Cotney Peters and Joseph Peters; and father-in-law, L.C. Amos Spikes.
