Bobby Ray Kato passed away Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, in LaPlace. He was originally from Bogalusa, but lived in Queens, N.Y.
Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Cox Kato; his mother, Delissa Moses Kato; his father, Freddie Kato; and grandson, Michael Kato.
He leaves to cherish his memories, four children, Michael Kato of New Orleans, (Felicia-honorary daughter), Delissa Kato Taylor of Queens (Albert), Bobby Kato Jr. of Danbury, Conn. (Christina), and Eric Davis of Queens; six grandchildren, Leila Davis, Mekale Kato, Michell Kato, Shaneka Thompson, Shannita Lewis, and Rashad Lewis; seven great-grandchildren, Nekalus Thompson, Kennedy Thompson, Kamiya Lewis, Kiersten Lewis, Khymani Wilkins, Jaden Leroy and Kaige Kato; seven siblings, Shirley Wicker, Patricia Harris, F. Bernard (Patricia), Marjorie Kato, Linda Kato, Sandra Kato, and Michelle Kato Jordan (Craig); two aunts, Helen McGee (Gary), and Claranetta Moses Maxwell; one uncle, the Rev. James Moses; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with the funeral to immediately follow at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at Crain and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Bogalusa. The Rev. Dr. Byron Muse will be officiating the service.
