Dennis Ray Brown

On Oct. 17, 1955 in Bogalusa, Dennis Ray Brown was born to the late Helen Louise Ramsey Brown and Elder Bobby Ray Brown. He departed this life at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, with his loving wife and family by his side on Saturday night, Feb. 4, 2017.

Remembering him with love are his loving and dedicated wife, Rochelle Brown of Lithonia, Ga.; two daughters, Tanethia Williams of Baton Rouge, and Brittany (Michael) Jackson of Conyers, Ga.; two sons, Brandon Brumfield of Bogalusa, and Joshua Goss of Lithonia; his father, Pastor Bobby (Deloris) Brown of Bogalusa; three sisters, Betty Carter and Patsy Brown of Compton, Calif., and Sheila Brown of St. Louis, Mo.; two brothers, Eldred (Myrtis) Brown of Austin, Texas, and Caleb Brown of Compton; a loving mother-in-law, Juanita Barron of Decatur, Ga.; a brother-in- law, Terence Hampton of Decatur; two sisters-in-law, Dorian (Charles) Freeman of Lithonia, and Letisha (Dennis) Gillespie of Decatur; five grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. We can’t forget his best friend and buddy Bayou, his Shih Tzu dog.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Ramsey Brown; and his grandmothers, Dorothy Hookfin and Adila James.

The visitation will be 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, with a family hour from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Bogalusa.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, at St. John Temple C.O.G.I.C. with the Rev. Bobby Brown officiating. The interment will be held in the Bogalusa Cemetery.
