Jacqueline Pounds

Jacqueline “Jackie” Melithia Pounds, 89, a resident of Bogalusa, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017, at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans. She was born on May 6, 1927, in Bogalusa.

She is survived by two daughters, Ramona Kaye Pounds, and Winona Faye Pounds, both of Bogalusa; one son, Clifford Pounds of Bogalusa; four sisters, Betty Jean Carroll and Ethel Wilson, both of Bogalusa, and Evelyn Fitzmorris and Floyce Crain, both of Sun; one brother, DeWight Jones of Isabel; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Randle C. Pounds; one son, Tyrone C. Pounds; and her parents, Henry Elmer Jones and Adele Adams Jones.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 27, from 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Dennis Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Adams Cemetery in Isabel.
