Jimmy Wayne Wheat, 70, born on Jan. 4, 1947, in Pearl River County, Miss., passed away on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017 at his home in Bogalusa.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Parker Wheat of Bogalusa; one son, Kenny W. Wheat of Bogalusa; one sister, Lynda (Raymond) Perry of Henleyfield, Miss.; and three grandchildren, Alanna Wheat, Harlie Wheat and Layla Rae Wheat.

He is preceded in death by one sister, Sarah Ash; three brothers, Duane Wheat, Billy Wheat and Gary Wheat; and one grandson, Alexander Wayne Wheat.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 19, at Palestine Baptist Church, located at 59369 Palestine Church Road in Bogalusa, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Memorial services will begin at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Fred Brumfield officiating.
